76 When we decided to get into the Pipe Business, it was based upon providing our Utility Contractors with structures as well as pipe. Del Zotto was never in the market for a brand New Pipe Machine, that is, with what was available in the marketplace at the time. Millions of dollars in costs to get up and running would have been way beyond our ability to make the investment to pay for itself, within a reasonable amount of time. (We actually like to make a profit at what we do) So, we started out by seeking out a used pipe machine, molds/forms. But, that turned out to be more than frustrating. We spent months coming to two (2) absolute conclusions... 1. Used Pipe Machines were old technology and most of the ones we looked into raised huge questions. Questions as to the cost effectiveness involving extensive repairs & part replacement ( those being only the ones that were obvious) . 2. As to Used Pipe Forms, there were too many differences between what was required by our State D.O.T. and what was available… and finding the numbers of compatible pallets & headers was a whole other job in itself. So, if you have ever done business with us before… or even if you have heard of us… That being who we are, and knowing the concrete forming and mixing business inside and out… Of course we decided that we were better off building a pipe machine ourselves. A Pipe Machine and an entire set up that would accommodate all of the pipe sizes that we would ever want to produce. WELL WE DID IT !!! Word has gotten around about this… and plenty of interest is out there ! After all, there are so many pre-casters out there in the same position as we were. So, now we can offer you the most cost effective Pipe Machine System dollar for dollar. But the best part—is for both of us...that we can prove it to you ! Come and see for yourself.
